ADMISSIONS INFORMATION
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
All persons who contemplate enrollment at NEBC should make formal application at least six weeks, but not more than one year, prior to the start of the semester, to allow sufficient time for processing and enrollment. An application packet may be secured from the Administration Office. The following materials must accompany the application:
- A personal essay describing the applicant's conversion testimony, Christian experiences, life goals, purpose for attending Bible college and biblical basis for assurance of salvation.

- Three references as specified in the application form.
- A non-refundable application fee of $25.
- Either an official high school transcript or equivalent, or official college transcripts if at least 15 college credits have been completed.
- If there are disagreements with the doctrinal statement, please include a written response to specific issues.
ADMISSIONS
REQUIREMENTS
NEBC welcomes applicants with a high school diploma or equivalent. All applicants must give evidence of a regenerating experience by personal faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to follow His Word. They must be members of a local church and be willing to maintain a lifestyle that is honoring to Jesus Christ. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to do college level work and be willing to abide by all college regulations.
NEBC follows a rolling admissions policy. All applications are processed immediately upon receipt of forms, letters and documents certifying eligibility, and notification to the student is made immediately regarding acceptance.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADMISSIONS
NEBC is not authorized to accept students for study with student visas. Therefore, foreign students wishing to study at NEBC must be resident in the U.S. with status as permanent residents, or as recent immigrants.
Applicants must give evidence of educational background that is at least equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma. It is the responsibility of the applicant to obtain records or transcripts from their respective schools in their home countries. Said records should be translated and notarized.
Applicants who are not native English speakers must demonstrate evidence of sufficient English language skills to do successful college work. For further details please contact the college office.

A degree student has enrolled with the goal of earning one of the degrees offered by the College and maintains a pace to complete the program within the time limitations. Degree students must fulfill all course prerequisites stated in the catalog.
A certificate student enrolls specifically in the Bible Certificate or Advanced Bible Certificate program, having no intentions to earn a degree. Certificate students may transfer into the degree program at any time. However, they must pay a Change of Program fee.
A special student enrolls to take courses, but is not seeking either a degree or a Bible Certificate. A special student may take any courses as long as pre-requisites are fulfilled. NEBC will admit outstanding High School seniors as special students, with a very limited course load. Special students must request approval for continuation each academic year.
An audit student may only enroll in a resident study course on a non-credit basis, with a two-course limit per semester. The student is not required to perform the expected course work nor are the instructors required to grade any work submitted. An audit student is welcome to participate in the classroom learning experience.
READMISSION
Students who do not register for at least one course every 12 months may be readmitted
on the following basis:
- The student must have completed at least one semester with a G.P.A. of at least
2.0 prior to withdrawal.
- The student must not have been dismissed from the College for any reason.
- The student must have been enrolled within the last 5 years.
- Request for readmission must be made to the Academic Dean prior to registration.
- A readmission fee will be charged at registration.
- Any student who does not meet these criteria must reapply for admission to the College.
TRANSFER OF CREDIT
Any applicant who has completed post-secondary courses may have such courses evaluated for transfer credit. To do so the student must request official transcript(s) be sent directly to NEBC from all institution from which they would like to transfer credit, and pay the transfer of credit fee. Evaluation of transcripts for transfer credit will only be performed after the applicant has completed his college application and paid the application fee.
Applicants with military service should send a copy of an AARTS Transcript (Army/ACE Registry Transcript Service), Navy SMART RECORD, or a DD Form 295 (Application for the Evaluation of Educational Experiences During Military Service) to the Registrar for review for possible transfer of credit.
Credits may be accepted as follows:
- All transfer credit must be must meet the general requirements of the program at NEBC. Where course content varies, or credit hours are different, the Registrar’s office will make a judgment as to applicability.
- Transfer credit from regionally accredited schools is generally accepted. Individuals who have attended unaccredited colleges may receive transfer credit granted on a probationary basis (see below) as a result of a review decision by the Academic Dean.
- No more than 60 credit hours, or 30 credits in the case of the A.A. program, may be transferred from non-Bible college programs, and certain segments of the curriculum may be required in their entirety. Students transferring from an accredited Bible college may transfer up to 90 credits.
- Individuals possessing a 4-year Bachelor's degree from an accredited college may receive up to 60 hours of transferable credit as a result of review and decision by the Academic Dean. Students seeking a second bachelor’s degree must complete the requirements of the degree program at NEBC.
- A maximum of 3 credits may be transferred upon entry into the Bible Certificate program. However, students changing to the degree program may request transfer credit at that time.
- No transfer credit will be given for courses in which the grade was below a letter grade "C" or a numerical grade "77". Transfer credit will not be calculated as part of G.P.A. at NEBC.
- Coursework completed more than 15 years prior to the date of application will not normally be accepted for transfer.
- All students must complete their final semester in residence at NEBC.
Probationary transfer of credit
Probationary transfer of credit will be used for students as defined above in order to validate academic achievement. The Academic Dean must receive an official transcript and a copy of the catalog course descriptions under which the transcript was issued.
Probation will extend through the first semester of enrollment at NEBC. The student must produce a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 for the first semester. If the first semester GPA is less than 2.0, transfer credit will not be granted.
Taking classes at other schools while enrolled at NEBC
Students currently enrolled at NEBC who wish to take courses at another institution must petition the Academic dean for permission to do so prior to enrolling in the off campus course. No more than 12 credits of such courses may be applied to the bachelor’s program. The student must demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Academic Dean a genuine need to take courses off-campus, and such courses must be equivalent to the courses in the curriculum of NEBC as determined by the Academic Dean.
CLEP Exams
NEBC students may take certain CLEP tests and receive credit toward their A.A., B.S. or B.A. degree. NEBC does not administer the exams, but examination locations may be found by accessing the College Board website at: www.collegeboard.org/clep/.
Students in the A.A. program may complete a maximum of 9 credits through CLEP and Bachelor’s degree students may complete up to 15 credits. Contact the registrar for details.
