ADMISSIONS INFORMATION

APPLICATION PROCEDURES
All persons who contemplate enrollment at NEBC should make formal application at least six weeks, but not more than one year, prior to the start of the semester, to allow sufficient time for processing and enrollment. An application packet may be secured from the Administration Office. The following materials must be submitted:

  1. A completed application form.
  2. A personal essay expressing the applicant's conversion testimony, Christian experiences, life goals, purpose for attending Bible college and biblical basis for assurance of salvation.
  3. Two references as specified in the application form.
  4. Medical information: all students born after 1956 are required to submit certification from a physician that they have been immunized against measles, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, and mumps.
  5. A non-refundable application fee of $25.
  6. An official high school transcript or equivalent.
  7. If there are disagreements with the doctrinal statement, please include a written response to specific issues.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
NEBC welcomes applicants with a high school diploma or equivalent. All applicants must give evidence of a regenerating experience by personal faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to follow His Word. They must be members of a local church and be willing to maintain a lifestyle that is honoring to Jesus Christ. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to do college level work and be willing to abide by all college regulations.

NEBC follows a rolling admissions policy. All applications are processed immediately upon receipt of forms, letters and documents certifying eligibility, and notification to the student is made immediately regarding acceptance.

ENROLLMENT CATEGORIES

  1. Degree Student
A degree student has enrolled with the goal of earning one of the degrees offered by the College and maintains a pace to complete within the time limitations. In choosing courses, a degree student must fulfill any prerequisites stated in the catalog.

  2. Certificate Student
A certificate student enrolls specifically in the Bible Certificate program, having no intentions to earn a degree. The Bible Certificate program requires the completion of the 31 semester credit hours specified in the curriculum, within the noted time limitations.

Certificate students may transfer into the degree program at any time. However, they must pay a Change of Program fee.

  3. Special Student
A special student enrolls to take courses, but is not seeking either a Degree or a Bible Certificate. A special student may take any courses as long as pre-requisites are fulfilled. NEBC will admit outstanding High School seniors as special students, with a very limited course load.

  4. Audit Student
An audit student may only enroll in a resident study course on a non-credit basis, with a two-course limit. The student is not required to perform the expected course work nor are the instructors required to grade any work submitted. An audit student is welcome to participate in the classroom learning experience.

READMISSION
Students who do not register for at least one course every 12 months may be readmitted on the following basis:

  1. The student must have completed at least one semester with a G.P.A. of at least 2.0 prior to withdrawal.

  2. The student must not have been dismissed from the College for any reason.

  3. The student must have been enrolled within the last 5 years.

  4. Request for readmission must be made to the Academic Dean prior to registration.

  5. A readmission fee will be charged at registration.

  6. Any student who does not meet these criteria must reapply for admission to the College.

TRANSFER OF CREDIT
Any applicant who has completed post-secondary courses may have such courses evaluated for transfer credit by having the institution involved send an official transcript to NEBC.

Applicants with military service should send a copy of an AARTS Transcript (Army/ACE Registry Transcript Service), Navy SMART RECORD, or a DD Form 295 (Application for the Evaluation of Educational Experiences During Military Service) to the Academic Dean for review for possible transfer of credit.

Evaluation of transcripts for transfer credit will only be performed after the applicant has completed his application and paid the application fee.

No more than 60 semester credit hours may be transferred, and certain segments of the curriculum may be required. No transfer credit will be given for courses in which the grade was below a letter grade "C" or a numerical grade "77".

A maximum of 3 credits may be transferred upon entry into the Bible Certificate program. However, students changing to the degree program may request transfer credit at that time.

Transfer credit may be given for trimester or quarter hour credits at the discretion of the Academic Dean but the deficient credit hours must be made up in courses in the same field of study.

Credits may be accepted as follows:

  1. Individuals possessing a 4-year Bachelor's degree from an accredited college may receive up to 60 hours of transferable credit as a result of review and decision by the Academic Dean.

  2. Individuals who have attended a non-accredited college or Bible Institute may receive transferable credit granted on a probationary basis as a result of a review decision by the Academic Dean.

  3. Individuals who are already enrolled at NEBC as continuing students may take a limited number of courses from other colleges for transfer credit in their degree program. The student must be able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Academic Dean a genuine need for such transfer courses. Such courses must be equivalent to the courses in the curriculum of NEBC as determined by the Academic Dean.

  4. Transferability of credit for specifically required courses in the baccalaureate program is based on exactness of the match, both in quality and content of the transferring course. Transferability of credit in elective areas of the program is based on quality of the transferring course and need not match any particular course in our curriculum.

Probationary transfer of credit
Probationary transfer of credit will be used for students as defined above in order to validate academic achievement. The Academic Dean must receive an official transcript and a copy of the catalog course descriptions under which the transcript was issued.

Probation will extend through the first semester of enrollment at NEBC. The student must produce a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 for the first semester. If the first semester GPA is less than 2.0, transfer credit will not be granted.
