On Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 6:15 pm, New England Bible College will celebrate 50 years of Bible college education in Maine. Rev. Russ Cotnoir, Senior Pastor of Fayette Baptist Church, Fayette, Maine, will speak at a fundraising banquet held at the Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks, in South Portland.

Under the theme Advancing the Vision, we will celebrate 50 faithful years of ministry combined in Glen Cove Bible College and New England Bible College (NEBC). Over 1000 graduates and former students have gone on to shape the Evangelical world in New England and beyond.

Rev. Russell C. Cotnoir, earned his B.S. degree in Bible from NEBC in 1990. Since 1988 he has been the senior pastor of Fayette Baptist Church. The church’s mission is to communicate Christ to the community – locally and afar. Fayette Baptist is a fast growing church “on the move”, with dynamic leadership that matches its Biblecentered vision.

Russ is known to many outside of the Augusta area as the voice of First Light, a daily radio program founded in 1996 and currently airing on WBCI FM. His passion is to communicate biblical truth in a relevant way and to effect spiritual change through his preaching at churches and events including Promise Keepers rallies, men’s retreats and various conferences. Russ and his wife, Denise, have four children and two grandchildren.

The banquet program will feature adjunct instructor Joshua Otte (B.A., 02), associate Pastor of Windham Baptist Church, as emcee. The first President of Glen Cove, Harold Duff will speak briefly, reminding guests of the vision of Glen Cove and NEBC. Ted Fish (Dip., 65) will provide special music.

NEBC President Richard Francis will highlight the growth, ministry, and vision for further expansion of NEBC. We will unveil a proposed outreach of the school as well as strategies for the growth and future ministry of NEBC, including additional degree programs, increased visibility of NEBC in promotion, and further steps to solidify our financial standing, accreditation credentials, and ministry potential.

This would be a great time to introduce a friend to NEBC! There is no charge to attend, though tickets are required and seating is limited. An invitation to partner with NEBC financially will be extended. For tickets or further information, please contact NEBC at 799-5979 or Ticket Requests
