COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Introduction to Apologetics
PH-203
3 Credit hours
“Apologetics” is the technical term for making a reasoned argument in defense of a position or to encourage that position’s acceptance. Perhaps the most famous Christian example is Paul’s speech to the Athenians on the Areopagus (Acts 17). Apologetics draws its evidence from everyday experience and academic disciplines such as philosophy, history, cosmology, and other sciences. Students will learn what they need to be able defenders of Christian faith as well as having their own faith strengthened.
Introduction to Philosophy and Ethics
PH-102
3 Credit hours
Beginning with the ancient Greeks and moving to modern times, this course will survey the major philosophical schools and their assumptions and teachings. The course will help students better understand how Christianity has both adapted and used various philosophical systems, while also resisting others.
Biblical Interpretation
BI-100
3 Credit hours
This course examines the fundamental principles, practices and tools of biblical interpretation and exegesis. It will introduce hermeneutical strategies and methods will be taught towards gaining competent and faithful proficiency in delivering the biblical author’s intended message for a contemporary audience.
Advanced Apologetics (prerequisite PH-203 Introduction to Apologetics)

This course will build upon Introduction to Apologetics (Ph 203). It will examine serious intellectual challenges to Christian faith, compare and contrast worldviews and major religions with Christianity, and provide students the opportunity to develop a functional worldview which is consistent with divine revelation.
